Bouroullec Brothers

Born in Quimper, France, in 1971 and 1976, respectively, Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec pursued their studies at the Ecole Nationale des Arts Décoratifs in Paris and the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Cergy Pantoise. Post-education, Ronan initiated his solo career, later joined by his brother still in training.

Establishing their design studio in Paris in 1999, the brothers collaborate as equal partners. Their creative portfolio spans from everyday objects to architectural endeavors. Alongside designing home and office furniture, vases, porcelain tableware, jewelry, and various home accessories, their persistent focus on space and its design remains a hallmark of their work.

In 2004, they introduced “Algue,” one of their most unconventional creations. The partnership with Vitra commenced with the design of the “Joyn” office furniture system between 2000 and 2002, an ongoing collaboration. Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec play a vital role, alongside Jasper Morrison, Hella Jongerius, and Antonio Citterio, contributing to the ever-expanding Vitra Home Collection.
