The year 2023 is slowly coming to an end. It has been a highly successful year in the music industry and has produced a number of new artists. The editorial Team has highlighted these albums as the best albums for this year. There was a specific focus on rap, as most of the chart hits this year came from the hip-hop sector.

Travis Scott - Utopia
The album of the year was Utopia. After 5 years of anticipation, Travis Scott has released his new album. With features such as Drake, Don Toliver, Kid Cudi and Young Thug, the album went viral on the day of release. As of today, 5 songs have over 100 million streams on Spotify.

Lil Uzi Vert - Pink Tape
The Pink Tape had a massive hype even before its release. Upon release, the songs already garnered over millions of streams. The main song from the album is "Just Wanna Rock" with over half a billion streams.

Offset - Set it off

Dave x Central Cee - Split Decision
It's a small EP, but the songs pack a punch. The co-op ep has accompanied millions of people through the summer and songs like Sprinter have been heard up and down.

Ice Spice - Like...?
Every second song went viral and brought Ice Spice a huge hype through social media. The album has reached millions of streams and has songs for the ages.

Gunna - a Gift & a Course
Gunna released a solo album this year that created waves. “Fukumean” became a worldwide hit and reached almost half a million streams.

Don Toliver - Love Sick
Don Toliver dropped an album this year that contains almost nothing but hits. He collaborated with artists such as Justin Bieber, Wizkid and James Blake. The album reached millions of streams in a very short time.

These albums are only a minimal part of all the music that was released this year. Hits were certainly created this year that will last for years to come and perhaps go down in eternity.
