This curated selection celebrates the iconic designs of Charles and Ray Eames, reimagined in a captivating array of new finishes, fabrics, and colors inspired by the visionary couple’s artistic palette.
Included in this collection are timeless pieces such as the Eames Elephant (crafted in green-stained wood), the revered Eames House Bird (also in green-stained wood), and the Organic Conference chair, a collaborative masterpiece by Charles Eames and Eero Saarinen, among other captivating Special Editions.

In 1956, Charles and Ray Eames revolutionized the furniture landscape with the Lounge Chair—a masterpiece that defied convention. Lighter, more refined, and exuding a timeless modernity, this chair not only elevated aesthetics but redefined comfort. Its significance solidified its place as one of the most celebrated classics in modern furniture history.
For the 2023/24 winter season, Vitra unveils a special edition of the Lounge Chair, adorning it with Phlox fabric in a rich dark green hue. Phlox, a velour cord fabric designed by the visionary Raf Simons for Danish fabric manufacturer Kvadrat, gracefully complements the rosewood shells, accentuating the chair’s classic essence. Meanwhile, the metal components, coated in Pine Green, infuse a contemporary allure into the base frame and backrests. Notably, Phlox, a delightfully soft velour with a corduroy texture, matures with use, developing a distinctive velour patina over time while remaining easily removable for maintenance.
